Programme: The research group 'Isotope Physics' offers two dates for free guided tours for MinWien2023 participants to the Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator (VERA). After a short introduction in the lecture hall, the actual tour of the accelerator begins in two groups of up to 10 persons each.

Since a malfunction of the facility can cause X-rays to be emitted, the accelerator hall is a radiation area according to the general radiation protection regulations. Easy access is granted for adults (>18 years) but generally prohibited for pregnant persons. The rules applicable in all laboratory rooms of the University of Vienna, such as the ban on eating, drinking and smoking, which are explained in detail by the supervisor before the tour, must always be observed.
